After spending a great party last night, we were bit late in morning. Need to catch the train from NJP, vacation is over. Finished our breakfast and start our journey.

We followed the same route. Singling to Soreng then NJP.

We were lucky that day. Due to the clear sky we were able to see the pick of Kangchenjunga.

Thanks to camera zoom which make things more clear and nearer

Last two days was really awesome. Our trip tends to end, eventually everyone was silent, might be we were in the memory of those mountain and its nature

Certainly we woke up in the traffic.

Next day started differently, after having breakfast we stayed at cottage and few minutes later Mr. Dhusan younger brother came up with his guitar. He started playing the guitar and slowly we all joined him with different songs.

Whole environment immediately changed, it became livelier with the touch of music. First half of that day we did not move anywhere. After having lunch we had decided to explore another side of Singling.

Walked through a jungle ….

In jungle you can see amazing trees and leaves

We crossed the jungle and suddenly we saw the cloud..

And within few minutes rain started but it was something extra, rain with ice balls..that was not easy to face, immediately we took shelter under rock

And after few minutes of rain the road became snow white

The road turned more difficult for us to walk through. Then we decided to return to a nearby lake

Spent some time there and then move towards our cottage

And after few minutes, sky turned to dark again but it was not rain, time to go home

That night there was another most beautiful event was waiting for us – BONFIRE, Mr Dhusan has arranged for us with chicken and chang (homemade hard drink prepared by corn). Yes we enjoyed a lot with good food and music.

Singling, West Sikkim Diary

Sikkim is a state in northeast India, bordered by Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal. Part of the Himalayas, the area has a dramatic landscape that includes India’s highest mountain, Kangchenjunga. Sikkim is also home to glaciers, alpine meadows and thousands of varieties of wildflowers.

Are you a hills and mountains lover? Then Sikim will be your destination. We got a chance to stay few days with the nature.  If you are getting bored with daily life, city traffic, crowd and obviously city pollution then Singling the right destination for you.

Singling is a Village in Soreng Tehsil in West District District of Sikkim State, India. It is located 63 KM towards South from District head quarters Geyzing. 3 KM from Soreng. 51 KM from State capital Gangtok.

2-3 days are good time for your refreshment.  Weather is pleasant in Singling and sometime its cold in summer time also.

We have started from Kolkata, Sealdah station to New Jalpaiguri (NJP) at 10.00pm, by morning 8:00am (approx) we reached NJP.

From NJP you can book a personal car or bus or public car to Soreng. We booked a car to Soreng via Jorethang. After NJP road side view was awesome. Mountainous roads, abyss and obviously Teesta River will be your companion throughout the road. After all the excitement on the road, we have reached Soreng, thanks to Mr. Dhushan the owner of the Home stay at Singling, he came to Soreng to receive us with his SUV car. It took 30 mins from Soreng to Singling. It was cold that time, almost 7 pm we entered in the cottage. Its almost 675 km (approx) from Kolkata to Singling.

After a long journey its time to take some rest, after having our dinner we went to bed.

Morning become really good with a good tea in a pleasant weather..

then again walked towards the unknown..

on your way you can find a nearby village also

you can find some flag roadside, something written on it.. as per the local people or myth, the air touches the flag turn to holy air and it will purify evil things in nature

Then we moved to the cottage and had our lunch. After few hours, again we went outside

And its really awesome, walked through the nature

After roaming here and there certainly we realized, oh its time to go to the cottage
